If you find yourself wheezing and spluttering after two flights of stairs after a fag break, you might want to sit this one out, but if you’ve got middling-to-good fitness levels, give it a go!

Alongside hundreds of fellow participants or ‘Gherkineers’, you’ll tackle the 38 floors of the building, which stands three times higher than Niagara Falls. It’s not usually open to the public, so this provides an exclusive opportunity to enjoy stunning panoramic views and a glass of bubbly when you reach the top.

Push yourself to your limits or take it at a more leisurely pace – the choice is yours!

When: September 7

Where: The Gherkin, 30 St Mary Axe, London, EC3A 8EP

The entry fee is £20 per person or £70 for a team of four, with a sponsorship target of £200 per person. Alternatively, if you don’t fancy taking the stairs, there is the option to purchase a ‘Champagne Lift Pass’ for £60 or £100 for two.
