The author of the record-breaking 50 Shades of Grey, E.L. James is shopping for a multi-million pound mansion.
The British author who previously worked at the BBC TV executive is cashing in on the massive windfall of profits from the word-of-mouth sales of her racy bondage-themed book which has become a global sensation.
Erika Leonard has made an estimated £6.5 million from the sales of the first part of the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy so far, which sold extensively as an eBook and later became a paperback hit.
The erotic novelist have been viewing properties in London and have been eying up a 7 bedroom mansion on the market for £3 million, according to the Daily Mail.
The house, which is a Grade II listed building, features an indoor swimming pool and 4 bathrooms – which is a considerable step up from her current family home.
The author is said to have earned £3 million from a recent film deal which will see the racy erotic novel made into a Hollywood film by Universal Studios.
“I’ve got two teenage sons and they are mortified…they don’t want to think about the fact that their mother writes about sex. But they’ve actually been very supportive.” James told allaboutyou.com recently.
