Liverpool reserve team striker Nathan Eccleston is being investigated

by the American-owned club after a controversial post on Twitter about

the September 11, 2001 attacks.

In a post Eccleston, 20,

appeared to suggest terrorists weren’t responsible for the attacks on

New York and Washington 10 years ago which claimed nearly 3,000 lives.

“I

ain’t going to say attack don’t let the media make u believe that was

terrorist that did it,” Eccleston Tweeted before later deleting the

post.

Liverpool, who are owned by America’s Fenway Sports Group, gave a cool response to the matter.

“The

club takes this extremely seriously and senior club officials have

informed Nathan Eccleston that we are undertaking an investigation into

the circumstances surrounding these postings and will decide on an

appropriate course of action,” a spokesman told the Liverpool Echo.
