Overview Esteemed French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte marries traditional French luxury with Oriental minimalism, and makes it work.
Guests are received with a welcome pastry (how very French) before being shown their digs by warm and smiling staff. The hotel also has a trendy bar and restaurant, though there are plenty of cafes in the ninth arrondissement if you’d rather pop out for food.
Wow factor The bathroom is simply sumptuous. The rain shower, which is tucked away in its own cave, is fantastic, but the marble Japanese tub – deep enough to submerge yourself up to the neck – is the real pièce de résistance.
Rooms Floor-to-ceiling windows mean the rooms are drenched in natural light. The bed is so plush and enveloping that it almost feels unfair to leave it.
Bill please Double rooms start at £340pn.
