Ireland flyer Tommy Bowe to miss Six Nations with knee injury

Bowe expects to be fit for next year’s Lions tour of Australia, which if fit he’d be a virtual certainty of being picked for.

The flyer had surgery on Thursday after he was hurt in the weekend’s Heineken Cup defeat to Northhampton.

He was injured when anketapped en route to scoring what would have been the match-winning try.

Ulster said in a statement the surgery was a success and Bowe hopes to back in action in the latter stages of the Heineken Cup, should his team make it through to the finals.
