Savile left behind £4.3 million in a NatWest bank account. In a statement, NatWest said “Given the claims raised, distribution of the estate has been put on hold.”

According to the Financial Times, Savile wrote a will in 2006 specifying that a small portion of his savings amounting to £20,000 should be shared with family members, friends and neighbours. A trust fund was also set up with £600,000, which pays interest to eight individuals.

The remaining cash was kept separately and designated to The Jimmy Savile Charitable Trust.

It’s not the first time Savile’s bank account has been frozen – earlier this year in July a woman claimed to the TV stars daughter. However, Georgina Ray this week abandoned her bid to try and prove Savile was her father, telling The People “I’m withdrawing my legal case. This evil man has fooled everybody. It’s so horrendous.”

Ray had previously claimed her mother Christine Oakes had a two-week fling with Savile at the age of 19 in 1970 when she was working as a waitress.

Upcoming legal claims are also thought to be likely against the BBC and the NHS, who are alleged to be vicariously responsible or negligent for failing to raise the alarm over the rumours and reports of Savile’s behaviour over the years.
