Kings Of Leon have revesled they've turned down actor Daniel's Craig's offer to write a 007 theme three times.
But the band now say they would do it if asked a fourth time.
Frontman Caleb Followill said: "I've always wanted to work with strings so that would be a good excuse to do it."
If the Tennessee rockers do decide to write
the theme tune for the next movie in the
franchise, they would follow in the footsteps of a host of other
stars – most recently Jack White and Alicia Keys who performed 'Another
Way To Die' for 22nd Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' – who have sang the
lead songs for the movies.
However, other artists including Lady Gaga and Michael Buble are also thought to be in the frame.
A ContactMusic source said of Gaga recently: "The Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice.
"Gaga
has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She's
a great songwriter too. This is perfect on every level."
In the meantime, Kings Of Leon, who performed at London's Hyde Park last night, have played themselves in a film documentary about the band called Talihina Sky.
It will be released on June 25. If they ever need actors to play themselves in a future movie, Caleb and his bandmate and brother Nathan have ideas for who they would like.
Caleb told Twitter followers he wanted to be played by Brad Pitt while Nathan went for Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids geek Rick Moranis.
