Lady Gaga’s meat dress will be turned into beef jerky, according to designer Franc Fernandez.
The meat dress caused outrage when Gaga wore it to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and Eminem reportedly refused to sit next to her, not being partial to the smell of rotten beef.
However, we may not have heard the last of the infamous meat dress as it is to be immortalised as beef jerky.
Argentinean designer Franc Fernandez said: “The dress will go through a process where it becomes a sort of jerky and will be archived.
“The meat dries out, rather than rotting. But it shouldn’t be worn again.”
Fernandez created Gaga’s meat dress from 50 pounds of steak, which he stitched together in a fridge before transporting it to the VMAs in a cooler.
He said: He said: “Gaga herself said it smelled good, because it smelled like meat.”
Gaga has claimed that the dress was as statement on gay rights, saying: “Equality is the prime rib of America, but because I’m gay, I don’t get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer.”
