A woman has been charged with murder after pushing a “transvestite” man in women’s clothes under a train at King’s Cross on Monday.
The victim was 63 and from central London. His name has not yet been released.
Nina Kanagasingham, 34, was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with murder, accused of pushing the victim under a train on a crowded rush hour station.
The incident was witnessed by dozens of shocked commuters and reports suggest that it may have been a “joke gone wrong” after the pair were seen laughing together on the tube platform. It is believed that the victim knew Kanagasingham.
The station was evacuated after the man, reportedly wearing woman’s dress, fell from the westbound platform onto the busy Piccadilly line just after 6.30pm.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed of his death.
