There are often people queuing to get into this joint at lunchtimes, so I’m keen to see what all the fuss is about now it’s open until 9.30pm some evenings.
Like most places serving decent street food, the decor is nothing to write home about – think bare brick walls and plastic plates and cutlery, so maybe not the best place for a posh meal.
The grub: We dive straight in with a portion of tortilla chips with guacamole. So far, so good.
Next up, we’re delivered a quesadilla – 12″ what flour tortilla filled with yummy melted Monterey Jack cheese and an extra helping of pasilla and chipotle chicken.
Incredibly moreish but nearly impossible to finish – although my friend gives it a good effort.
My burrito is just as delicious. The large wheat flour tortilla is bursting with rice, beans, cheese, sautéed peppers, onions and hot sauce.
It’s a feat, but I finish it. We’re too stuffed for dessert, although there is ice-cream on offer.
Behind the bar: There’s no booze on offer, so quench your thirst with a lemonade, coke, 7UP or ginger beer.
Bill please: Drinks from £1; starters from £1; mains from £5, dessert £3.
Verdict: A great lunchtime or post-pub stop-off offering top-rate Mexican grub.
