Picking a name for your baby is one of the most difficult tasks bestowed upon a new parent. So difficult, in fact, that some parents have resulted to naming their children after food (Burger and Aero); computer software (Google and Excel); and phrases (Goodluck and Haven’T).

According to The Baby Centre, each of the names that made it onto the ‘Unusual Baby Names of 2012’ list was given to at least two babies. TWO. Oh, the irony!  These parents went to all the trouble of giving their babies ‘creative’ names that no one else would have, and then other people went and had the same (terrible) ideas.

On the other end of the spectrum, the most popular girls’ name given to babies this year was Sophia – given to 11,849 babies in every million, and for boys it was Aiden – given to 7,644 babies in every million.
