The bombers opened fire at Ataturk Airport yesterday before exploding three devices, injuring at least 147 people and murdering 36.
Islamic State are believed to be behind the attacks, although this has not been verified.
The Foreign Office’s travel advice to visitors to Turkey is to follow the advice of the local security forces.
The Foreign Office’s travel advice on its site states, “There has been an attack at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. If you are in the area follow the advice of the local security forces.
“Please follow Travel Advice for further updates. Speak to your carrier for updated travel information.”
The airport has reopened and flights are being reinstated.
Ataturk Airport is the third largest in Europe and gateway between Europe and Asia.
