Drunk man steals school chick – United Kingdom
A primary school’s pet chicken was stolen by a drunken man who posed for pictures with it before setting it free in a field at a house party.
Anthony Campen took the bird from Chelmsford, Essex, before tucking it into his backpack.
After posting the pictures on Facebook, Campen was collared and he admitted his crime.
He has been fined £130 and ordered to pay £85 in costs too.
Despite his public haranguing for his pissed-up antics, he later showed little remorse, tweeting: “£235 for a fucking chicken. Right, I’m for a kfc!!”

A video showing a driver’s hilariously dubious excuse to an Australian policeman has gone viral.
The incident filmed for TV show Highway Patrol occurred in Victoria when officers were called to an accident at a spot notorious for boy racers.
As the driver sits in his seriously damaged vehicle, a policeman asks what he’s up to – his spur of the moment excuse: “I’m just waiting for a mate.”
As the officer pursues his line of inquiry, the driver tries to keep his cool under pressure from the law, asking: “What kind of accident?“One with a curb mate,” answers Constable Bowden.
“Your whole car’s smashed up.”The driver, identified as ‘Clinton’, was fined £400 and ordered to do four months community service. He was also banned from driving for three years.

Purrrfect place for a cuppa – United Kingdom
Like cats? Like tea? Then you’re in luck. The UK is to get its first cat cafe – a haven for lovers of all things feline.
The public donated £11,000 for the project, which could see a venue opening in London.
Entrepreneur and cat lover Lauren Pears is searching for venues and claims to have found 15-30 cats that will ‘staff’ the cafe, which she hopes to open in May.
Cat cafes are hugely popular in Asia, with customers able to buy coffee, tea and food while interacting with cats who roam freely around.
The concept will be aimed at people who live in small apartments and who are therefore not able to keep pets.
Ad complaint? Don’t have a cow…Australia
A burger chain has been accused of being perverted after an advert showed a woman licking a cow’s face.
Brisbane’s Burger Urge was criticised for using the controversial image to promote its premium beef.
It also came under fire for its slogan, ‘Get Intimate’, in a complaint to the Advertising Standards Agency.
However, the board ruled most consumers would realise the image had been Photoshopped and was not overly sexualised or provocative.
Australian Christian Lobby state director Wendy Francis said the image was offensive.
“It’s definitely a sexual sort of image,” she said.
“It says ‘get intimate’ so we’re not talking about a pet thing. The cow is dressed up as a man.”
New kind of high for drug maker – New Zealand
It must have been like a scene from a film, albeit a really low-budget one. A man wanted on charges of manufacturing drugs led police on a daring foot chase over rooftops.
The suspect escaped from officers at a hotel in London Street, Hamilton, jumping out of a third-floor window and racing across the tops of adjoining buildings.
However, the 35-year-old, wanted for allegedly producing methamphetamine, came unstuck with a gap that was too wide.
Senior Sergeant Wayne Petherick said: “With the assistance of the Fire Service’s aerial ladder truck the offender was arrested and brought back to ground from a second floor rooftop.”
Giant koalas on the loose – Australia
A colony of 21 koalas is about to be let loose on the streets of the Gold Coast.
The huge sculptures, each around 4ft tall, were created by local artist John Cox, the winner of an Academy Award for his work on the film Babe, at his Creature Workshop in Molendinar.
Artists from around Australia have decorated the koalas in various styles.
The Animals With Attitude trail will be launched at Broadbeach by Queensland Governor Penelope Wensley and can be followed by downloading a map online.
