“Understated” was a word never uttered in their design conception. Saturated with colour, giant murals, geometric tiling, hanging lights, and ceiling foliage -it’s mad, but it works. When the music starts to drum it’s as if you’re no longer in London and are instead road-tripping to wherever rum flows freely and “just out for a quiet one” doesn’t have a local translation.
The Peruvian-inspired menu consists of reasonably priced tapas-style meals that are great to share but unlikely to fill you up if you’ve come for a sit down dinner. The pork belly sliders and sweet potato fries are always a winner and complement their inspired cocktail list. For the brave, the Piña Picante cocktail is spicy and packs a punch, and for those with a sweeter tooth, the Che Guava is one of their many fruitier alternatives. However, the drinks selection goes far beyond cocktails, and if you’re a lover of rum, mescal, and tequila, you’ve found your special place at the bar.
To celebrate their opening, food is half price throughout April, so it’s worth popping along to see what’s happening for yourself, though the minimum age for entry is 21. On weekends, the dining area opens up as a dance floor with DJs making it a great place to start, or end, your night.
