Oklahoma tornado: 91 feared dead after enormous tornado ripped up entire towns

The worst area to be hit was Moore, in the south of the city, where winds of up to 200mph have caused absolute destruction as the tornado struck at 3pm local time on Monday afternoon.

Twenty children are amongst those feared killed by the tornado as neighboorhoods, including a school, were hit.

President Obama has declared a major disaster area now in Oklahoma with the death toll expected to rise as emergency search efforts begin.

The number of people injured by the tornado has reached 240, 60 of these being children.
