In a frank interview with The Guardian, the star of Basic Instinct was asked if he thought that smoking and drinking had been a cause of his cancer, to which he responded he did not.
“Without wanting to get too specific,” he said, ” this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus.”
Douglas was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 after which he began a successful eight week course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. He is now in remission.
When talking of the cause of his cancer, he also added though, that its cause is also the best way to combat it.
“It’s [HPV] a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it.”
